Usaqin, the One Who Knocks

Spotting fire salamanders in the embers of the hearth has always been a popular and strangely entrancing pastime. In Arcania however, there are creatures you do not want to spot, and whose appearance spell the end of that particular fire.

One such creature is Usaqin, a tiny dragon that sometimes shows itself for a short glimpse among sparks and flames. It is believed to be a lost dragon soul, struggling to return to the plane of the living through tiny gates opened by fire and circumstance.

Nobody knows who Usaqin used to be, and why it was condemned, and so far no one has left the fire burning long enough to find out.
