Embark on a tour of Ian Vincent’s India and discover one of the most densely populated and colorful countries of the world. The year is 1911, and the world is changing fast in the British Raj. Will you complete your Grand Tour in time, or lose to more cunning – or simply better connected – opponents?
Also includes Alan R. Moon’s terrific map of Switzerland, specifically designed for 2 and 3 players and made famous by Ticket to Ride Online! Discover Switzerland’s challenging geography with its verdant valleys and mountain passes, as well as the charm of its neighboring countries.
Ticket to Ride: Switzerland is still my favorite map. It’s all about drawing tickets. In every game I play, all of the tickets will be drawn. I like to build a route from Zurich to Bern, and then start drawing tickets. Depending on what tickets I get, I extend my route to include Basel, Geneva, St. Gallen, and as many of the four countries as possible.
The country to country tickets drive some of the strategy, although trying to complete them is not the only viable strategy in the game. The first time I played with the former Days Of Wonder owner Eric Hautemont, Eric used a strategy of building across the southern part of the board where there are longer routes, and he won quite handily.
